Why We Built This Site
Frequency technology — PEMF, microcurrent, red light, neuroacoustic — is a real, research-backed field. But when we first started exploring it, we hit the same wall every curious person hits.
The information online fell into two camps: enthusiastic promoters making extraordinary claims (often with affiliate links attached), and dismissive skeptics writing off the whole field as pseudoscience.
Neither was helpful. We wanted something in between — a clear, grounded explanation of each technology, the mechanisms behind it, the published evidence, and the honest limitations. We wanted the research cited, the claims checked, and the hype filtered out.
We couldn’t find it. So we built it.
What We Do
Frequency Technology researches, tests, and writes about the full spectrum of frequency-based devices and modalities — from FDA-cleared technologies with decades of published research, to experimental tools with passionate communities but limited clinical trials. Our lens: what each technology actually does, and how it translates into real wellness applications.
Every article follows the same principles:
We Cite the Actual Research
When we reference a study, we link directly to the peer-reviewed source — typically through PubMed or NIH’s PubMed Central. No vague “research shows” without showing the research.
We’re Honest About Evidence
Some technologies have strong support. Others have promising early results. Others have none. We tell you which is which, clearly and without spin.
We Use Compliant Language
We don’t use “healing,” “therapy,” or “treatment” for consumer devices. These words imply medical claims that haven’t been validated. Language matters.
How We Review
Our reviews are research-based — manufacturer specifications, published research, regulatory records and user feedback, not manufacturer talking points. We have not physically tested these devices, and we say so plainly. When claims go beyond the evidence, we say that too.

How We Review Devices
Every device we review is scored across seven criteria. We weight evidence base and value for money most heavily, because the frequency wellness space is particularly prone to devices that cost a lot and promise more than they deliver.
How quickly can someone get started?
Materials, durability, and design
Range and variety of programs
Peer-reviewed research support
Is the price justified?
Manufacturer and community resources
Real-life integration and convenience

Who Writes Frequency Tech
The people behind every article
Two named writers produce everything on this site. Every article carries a byline, and every claim in it can be traced to a specification sheet, a regulatory record or a published study. If you find one that cannot, tell us and we will correct it.
Dinesh Kumar
Founder & Editor
Dinesh Kumar founded Frequency Tech in 2023 to give readers a plain-English, research-cited account of frequency-based wellness devices. He writes the site’s explainers and research references on red light therapy, binaural beats and PEMF, and edits every review against the site’s published methodology.
Writes about: red light therapy and photobiomodulation, binaural beats and brainwave audio, PEMF research, how to evaluate a frequency device. Selected work: What Is Red Light Therapy?, What Are Binaural Beats?, PEMF Research Reference.
Ashish Singh
Lead Writer
Ashish Singh is the lead writer at Frequency Tech and the author of most of its device reviews and buyer’s guides, covering PEMF mats, red light therapy panels and microcurrent devices. His reviews are research-based: every specification, price and study he cites is checked against the manufacturer’s documentation, regulatory records and the published paper.
Writes about: PEMF mats and devices, red light therapy panels, microcurrent facial and pain devices. Selected work: Best Frequency Devices 2026, PEMF Mats Buyer’s Guide, What Is PEMF?.
